Galaxy Cafe

My posts about Austin are a bit out of order especially considering Galaxy Cafe was my restaurant visit in the city.  My first food stop, it should be said, was at the flagship Whole Foods.  The company began in Austin and now hosts an enormous Whole Foods in the heart of the city.  It was definitely quite a see and was a feast for my gluten free senses with lots of options I had never seen before.

Even before we headed to Galaxy Cafe we had another stop: our AirBnB for the weekend.  Neither of us had ever used the website but decided to go out on a limb and try it.  We were pleasantly surprised by our choice; here's a link to the place we stayed.

Anyway, again, back to Galaxy Cafe.  We were welcomed with a big gluten free menu and I ultimately opted for the G-Free Veggie Burger, a gluten free vegan patty on a rice bun.

It was great!  The meal was very filling, even though in the photo above the plate looks a bit sparse.  The bun was great, with full flavor and good cohesion.  The veggie patty itself tasted fresh, not over cooked (read: burnt), and the side of vegetables was delicious too.  All in all, it was a great kick off to our trip in Austin.

Do you love it or do you love it?
